Brin posted an amazing blog entry today summarizing our 2008!
Today I reflect on everything I am thankful for in 2008.
- God :: He’s blessed my life with so much. He truly is the giver of all good things!
- Family :: My wife Brin my two little guys Evan and Tanner and yea I’ll throw our dog Uno in there too.
- Extended Family :: I have awesome parents, three great brothers and their families who live nearby. Two of my grandparents passed away this year who lived amazing lives. I’m thankful for the example they’ve given me, they won’t be forgotten.
- Friends :: Surrounded by so many wonderful people here in upstate NY.
- Home :: Blessed with a nice home in a great location.
- Future :: Life is good when you live for God. Knowing that he has it all in control is a comforting thought.
- Job :: I work for an amazing company with an amazing group of people.

We never did the whole photo booth thing when we were dating. Not sure why, maybe they were illegal in the area of Indiana where we met? Anyways, one night we were trying to take a picture for our Christmas cards, it got late and things went downhill fast. But hey, we finally did get our photo booth pics!
Oh yea, which one should we use for our cards? (I’m semi-kidding)
Yesterday we made our way up to Gore Mountain to their fall festival to take in some of the beautiful foliage here in upstate NY!

Brin and I have been married 11 years! Yea ELEVEN already (I guess that’s what happens when you get married young!) But in my case it’s been easy with someone so wonderful. Through the good times and bad she never ceases to amaze me. She’s the most natural mother I know, the most organized person I know and an all-around amazing person. She’s disciplined enough to work out of the home, keeps the house clean and takes care of our son during the day all without skipping a beat.
When you get married young you never know what you’re really in for. All you know is that you “love” this person when in all honesty you don’t learn what real love is until you’ve been married a few years. All I can say is that I really lucked out finding her. In the words of one Jerry Maguire, she “completes me”, picking up where I leave off and vice versa.
So do we have the perfect marriage and perfect family? Heck no!! (though some believe that we seem to think so) All I can say is that we’ve sown good seed so far and we’re reaping the benefits of that good seed. Yea there are rough patches along the way, but with each day we gain experience, we learn something new and we get a little closer to each other. The key here is “learning”. So many people I know don’t learn from their experiences or apply things they read or hear.
While I’m not sure what’s around the corner with another little one on the way, one thing is for sure… With a woman by my side as amazing as she is, we’re ready for whatever comes our way together.

So this week Brin and I celebrated 11 years of marriage… 11 years already! Yea, we married young. What an amazing time we’re having on this journey!
Eleven years and not one thought of divorce (despite the national averages). Eleven years and no regrets. Eleven years and many life lessons learned. Eleven years and 1.5 children (July can’t get here fast enough). Eleven years but each one better than the last. Eleven years and she’s still “the one”. Eleven years, but we’ve just started.
