Me... I'm totally ignorant about electronics. Cool about the Blackheart. I was reading up on those a few weeks ago as well as the Suhrs. I used to build John Suhr's amps. Lately i have been hacking into the Epiphone Valve Junior. I made some tone tweaks and took a little gain out of it. I'm really digging it for worship. It provides a great neutral palette that loves being shaped by a fully stocked pedal board. That amp has been reincarnated as the Blackheart, this time with a tone stack...which i was about to put in the VJ...i think i am going to pick up one of those and tweak it into shape. But if i could play any amp in the world in a worship setting, It would have to be the Suhr Badger. My knobs are much happier how, as they aren't randomly changed by the cable flapping around inside the box when I'm traveling. I was NOT disappointed. :-) As for guitar/amp setup. Currently I'm just playing a standard Strat through a Mesa Boogie Lonestar Special. The reason I went with this amp is because each of the two channels has a selectable 5/15/30 watt config allowing me to lower the headroom and have a drive channel at lower volumes. So basically for OD/Distortion I have three options. 1. Channel two of the amp = bluesy drive 2. Xotic AC Booster = bluesy to moderate Dist 3.
